are you free saturday morning?

Had a wonderful date with hubby today. Headed out to Red Rock Casino and watched “Star Trek.” Good movie. Quiet there this morning. Not a problem getting in. No kids – always a good thing. Very few people. Just the way we like it. Played the slots a little before we left. Hubby and I are thinking of taking in a game of Bingo soon. Hmm..would that officially make us an old couple?! Whatever. We ate lunch at Joe’s. Food was great, as usual. But not as good as the company and conversation at our table. Love you babe.

The anniversary of her death is approaching. A year already and on Father’s Day. ::big breath:: It seems so long ago and yet..like it was yesterday. Can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I’ve heard her voice and hugged her. I was thinking of sending a grad announcement and senior pictures to Dee for Mom’s grave. I know how much she wanted to be here and how excited she was planning the trip for her and Dee. I do believe I will be very proud, yet sad June 11th.

Tom was getting Reno’s things ready today. He picked up old blankets we are going to throw away and moving pet beds so I can take the covers off and wash them. Apparantly, we failed to mention this change to Mac and I guess he’s not too keen on the fact we’re getting rid of things and moving things..

he’s decided to lay on the bed as protest:

mack a doo 1

mack a doo 2

I guess he’s missing Reno too.

I asked for a sign last night that I would be doing the right thing this morning. Woke up, got dressed and headed out the door with Reno. As I made the right turn, there it was..a rainbow. A big, bright, lovely rainbow. Maybe it wasn’t my sign..I don’t know. What I do know is that it gave me a small ounce of peace and courage to do what I needed to do today.
It went as I thought it would. Dr. Fields was great, as usual. I held on tight to Reno in the very last moments and felt him go so limp. I held it together as long as I could. The sound of cries from the men in my life was almost more than I could bear.

So, he’s gone now. And the house is quiet. And I miss him. I believe he’s somewhere along that rainbow I saw this morning. And he may not have been the best dog in THE world..

but he was the best dog in MY world.

He’s calling them my pre-birthday gift. He’s such a sweetie. He knows I’m not enjoying this birthday and trying to cheer me up.

I’m tired.

I’m tired of so many things, that I’m tired of the things I’m tired of. This has been truly a FUBAR year for me. I want it to be over. I want the stress, the depression, the sorrow.. all of it..to just fucking go away for a while. That’s it. I’ve had enough. I just want some peace.

after the storm

I took the photo a few years ago. It was just about to storm and the sky had these wonderful shades of orange.
